Who: Ryuta and Himeko
Where: Classroom of Class 2-ha
When: Thursday, April 20th, after classes
What: Uniform modifications. (Ryuta in lecture mode!)
Himeko let out a sigh, while slowly sliding the door to her homeroom class open. She made sure that no one else was inside, before making her way to her seat and quietly sitting down.
“You must be kidding me…”, she mumbled, while looking at her cellphone and flipping through the text her sister sent her a few minutes ago.
She shook her head angrily and finally decided to put her cellphone away. The reply to what that monster had written could wait.
“In about a month…huh?”, she said to herself again. It was way too soon. Technically, she had no time to prepare herself for that. Not that it would make any difference if she was prepared or not. A bunch of events and two concerts, even…. There was no way that this was a mere coincidence. Knowing her sister, she had planned it just to mock her.
Today started off as a very promising and good day for her. Classroom cleaning was canceled and that meant she had some more time to rest until dance practice began. Additional to that, she had been able to successfully sleep during the first few periods this morning. That was a good thing, considering how tired she was recently.
But with the arrival of that damn text, everything seemed to change for the worse.
Letting out another sigh, she placed her head on her desk and faced one of the windows in the room, daydreaming a little.
The silence in the empty classroom was just what she needed to calm down.

The book that landed on the desk beside Himeko shattered the silence, breaking her dream-like trance. "Ahem. Now that I have your attention..."
Ryuta casually walked closer to her desk, and looked at the aspiring idol. He carefully examined her up and down as he readjusted his glasses. "We have a problem here, I'm afraid."
After a moments pause, he showcases the book that he slammed on the desk just a moment ago. His voice then rings out in authority, speaking to Himeko as an officer would a criminal. "Your clothes. They violate the rules. You need to change them." Although a simple matter, he made it out like she just committed the worst crime in history.

“Damn it! Are you insane?! I’m going to kill you, if you try something like that on me again!”, she screamed at Ryuta angrily, presenting him with a deadly glare. She tried to calm herself down for a few seconds, swearing secretly to take revenge on him as soon as possible.
If her day had been bad before, right now it had turned out to be one of the worst days she had since arriving at Chitoku.
“Anyway… nice hobby you have there. Creeping up on innocent, little girls to scare them to death.”, she added baldly.
She waited for him to finish his lecturing speech, without really listening. Himeko knew what exactly his problem with her was and she couldn’t care less. Ever since meeting Ryuta for the first time, she had tried to get away from that conversation as long as possible. Sadly, he wasn’t that kind of guy who would fall for her cutesy act and just leave her alone.
That meant she had to deal with him in a different way.
A mischievous grin appeared on her face, as soon as he stopped talking. “I see…”, she replied, totally calm and in a tone that didn’t seem to fit to her usual cute and energetic self. “And… Let's say, just hypothetically, that I won’t change it back to how it was before. What kind of cruel punishment would await me in that case?”, it was clearly visible, that she didn’t take anything of what he was telling her seriously.

Taking a moment to consider her 'hypothetical' situation, Ryuta indulged her question. "Hypothetically, nothing. I hold no power to administer said punishment. However, your alterations are unacceptable nonetheless. You could face a minor punishment from the faculty members such as extra clean up duties and other chores. And considering your rather tight schedule, I doubt you want to make it even more hectic, agreed?"

Himeko herself had a rather irritated expression on her face.
“Someone like you really works part-time as a butler? I thought butlers were more like ‘Yes mistress…whatever you say, mistress! I would give my life for you ‘- that cheesy stuff, you know?. ...Can’t imagine you saying that.”, she chuckled.
“Ah but wait! I get it! Your customers are mostly that kind of women, right?”, Himeko was clearly making fun of him and she did it on purpose. Even if he had really tried to talk to her before and she didn’t answer, scaring her like that was something that angered her more than it probably should.
Additional to that, she was also curious about his reaction to his part-time job when directly confronted with it.
“So you’re not intending to tell any of the teachers that they should punish me because of my uniform? Did I get that right?”, Himeko couldn’t help it, she was a little surprised about the whole situation.
If he just came here to warn her about possible punishments she would receive, this was even more harmless than she originally thought it would be.
She stood up from her seat, so that he could see her modificated uniform a little better and smiled. It still wasn’t quite the smile she usually put on, but at least her tone changed back to ‘normal’. “If that’s all, I won’t change it! My uniform is cute as it is. It would be a pity to make it boring again, don’t you agree Ruleaholic? As for those punishments, they don’t really bug me. There are still possibilities to let others do those chores for me, if I’m too busy!”

Despite her best efforts, he maintained his calm demeanor. Showing any sign of a reaction would prove that she won out against him. He waited patiently for her to continue with her little defiant rant, listening until she finished. After she was through, he chose to ignore her insults and answered her question. "I am only here to warn you. It is not my place to tell the teachers how to handle their jobs." Even if they deserve a lecture about handling troublemakers. "The uniform was fine before. The additional frills and ribbons are unnecessary, and go against the dress code. Also..."
He took a glance around the room before continuing, checking to see if anyone else was close by to eavesdrop. Satisfied that there was no one in earshot, he concluded his statement. "Those punishments are what a 'normal' school would do. I'm sure you know as well as I that this is anything but a normal school. Even if the faculty members let it slide at first, the other students will begin to question why you are the exception. Such a thing could cause problems for you, the group, and the school. And seeing how they handled things during the 'draft', they may not take well to problems."

She had tried to read his facial expressions during her provoking talk, but even if it might have bugged him in some way he just stayed calm and ignored her.
Himeko hated being ignored. She had brought that topic up for a reason and she at least expected some kind of reaction to it.
However, she was sure that it was just a matter of time. If she kept annoying him, he would definitely react to it sooner or later.
She listened to the rest of his statement, shaking her head in disagreement from time to time.
“You seriously need to relax. Yeah, I know that this isn’t a normal school but what do you think they are going to do? Ripping my head off? “,she chuckled a little before she continued.
“The boys of my pathetic fan club won’t notice anything. You have seen them, right? I’m sure I can talk them into blackmailing some of the other people in school to keep quiet about it, as well. As for the rest… just let them talk? As long as they are just talking there’s nothing to be afraid of.”, Himeko wasn’t naive. She knew very well, that the day she needed to change her uniform back to normal would come. Even so, there was no way she would just surrender because of Ryuta’s words, when she probably could still keep up to wear it for a few more weeks.
“By the way… I think you shouldn’t be that strict with your rules. I’m sure even for you things worth breaking rules for do exist, right Butler-tan?”, she carefully used ‘Butler-tan’ as one of her new nicknames for him. She didn’t plan on using it in public, since he still kind of was ‘Ruleaholic’ for her. But she hoped to annoy him at least a little by using this new name from time to time.

Some time passed by in silence. Ryuta was thinking everything over in his head as he examined the situation before him. All he can do is warn her about the potential consequences ahead of her. If she chose not to listen, that would be on her head. But something struck him as odd about her behavior. She seemed less 'bubbly' then the rumors around her would suggest.
"It seems to me you are a rather devious person. Using others so casually as if they were mere play things. Even though you called your admirers pathetic, you would misuse your influence on them to blackmail other members of the student body." His voice did not change from it's usual even tone. However, his eyes reflected a dark hue behind his glasses. It wasn't out of anger for her disregard for the rules, or even for her continued attempts to mock him. Ryuta looked at the girl before him with pity.
"What a truly sad sight you are." There was no animosity in his words. He truly felt sorry for the person before him.

However, she couldn’t help glaring at him for a few moments before speaking up.
They weren’t meant to get along. She knew as much. But still, getting offended like this wasn’t something she just would take without at least defending herself.
“Sorry for not being that much of the perfectly good person, that you seem to be.”, she simply stated. She had a devious side. There was no use in denying that. It wasn’t that well-developed and didn’t play a huge part in her overall behavior, though. All in all, she really was a rather harmless person…. Aside from using her cutesy act to get her what she wanted from time to time, of course….
“But in that case all I do is using the impact of my behavior on others to my advantage. I’m basically just accepting the things they offer to do for me. It’s not like I use them every day or for very bad, unreasonable things. In fact, all they have done for me before was some classroom cleaning. Just look around and open your eyes. A lot of people do things like that. Even worse stuff than me.”, she sighed. Getting threatened like some kind of criminal just for making use of her personal fan club felt a bit over the top.
“I don’t really need your pity, though. If there’s need for that, you should probably pity yourself rather than me. Go out, find yourself some friends to hang out with and loosen up a bit. I’m sure that would help you.”, she shrugged.
There was nothing she could do to change his view on her and even if she could, Himeko didn’t really feel like trying it.
Ever since she could remember, a group of people, who admired her would gather around her without any real reason. As she grew older, she came to understand why they were following her. She just started to accept their offerings as some kind of minor help, when she got herself into trouble or simply needed some support.
Ryuta’s words did indeed make her think about the whole ‘fan club thing’. However, she couldn’t sense anything too reprehensible in her own behavior.
