Who: The Chitoku inaugural class.
Where: Chitoku campus, various locations.
When: Sunday, April 3, 2022, two days before the start of spring term.
What: The school has opened its doors.
After eight years of careful planning and preparation, the campus of Chitoku Academy for the Gifted was coming alive at last. Helpful staff members had been posted everywhere in anticipation of the crowd, and seemingly every variable had been accounted for in order to make the move-in and initial orientation go as smoothly as possible...
Save, that is, for the weather.
The sky had just opened up on several hundred students and their families. Boxes and suitcases were being hastily hauled to whatever shelter could be found, with the aforementioned helpful staff members now acting as guides to the most convenient locations, and clusters of people seemed to naturally form around them, waiting for the downpour to slacken so the day could proceed.

Re: GYMNASIUM
A second later, she realized how that had come out, and clapped her hands to her mouth as her face flushed still redder.
Her friend, 'Sacchi', gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder, then offered a shorter, shallower bow of her own. "Inuzuka Sachiko, same year." Though she looked a bit older than that. "She's shy, so try to be gentle, okay?"
Yoshino squeaked at that last.
Re: GYMNASIUM
"I am always gentle, Sachiko-chan. Yoshino-chan."
He could not simply let it go that Yoshino seemed so innocent, and continued smiling. Her friend had truly thrown her under the buss. And because of it, his attention came to her a little more.
"I cannot promise that I'll be able to devote my time to you, because I must help everyone who comes to my dojo. It's the burden that I have to bear." A shrug, and he gave another friendly smile. "Well, I have time to come and watch. Would you visit me?"
Re: GYMNASIUM
Sachiko seemed more skeptical, but her faint, largely unconscious smile made it clear that the upperclassman's charms hadn't been totally lost on her. "Easy now, Yoshi-chan. Don't get too worked up."
Re: GYMNASIUM
"It is nothing to worry about, Sachiko-chan. If it was something she did at the touch of a button, it would be. But everyone gets warm playing soccer." He opened his eyes slowly. "I would be happy to ensure she returns in one piece."
Re: GYMNASIUM
The young man who spoke those rather blunt words followed them with a formal bow, and a hand extended in Mirai's direction.
"Taue Shinichiro, scion of Kobe. Don't believe everything you've heard about me -- or do, it might be easier that way. I'm your roommate on the sixth floor. It's a pleasure to meet you -- and your ladyfriend companions."
He nodded at said ladyfriend companions, and then to Mirai again.
"Sorry if I was blunt, but that one seemed a bit confused." He jerked a finger in Yoshino's direction. "I mean, if she wants to fuck, that's totally between the two of you. Just making sure she knows what she's getting into."
Quite the auspicious start for our new roommates, ne?
Re: GYMNASIUM
"Greetings, Taue-kun. It is a pleasure, though I must correct your impression. Your beliefs are rather vulgar. You must have an unclean mind to be fascinated by my business."
He was still focusing his charm on the girls he had been talking to. "Just give me a few days, Yoshino-chan. I'll have him being more polite for you."
Re: GYMNASIUM
"You're one to talk!" she fumed, sticking a finger in his face. "I've heard all the stories, you know! About how you--"
"Come on, Yoshi-chan," Sachiko sighed, turning to go and giving her friend's arm a light tug. "I think I need to explain some things. Excuse me, senpai," she added with a curt nod.
Re: GYMNASIUM
With a shrug of his shoulders, he turned to regard his new roommate with a wary eye.
"Should I expect to come back and find a sock on the door often? That is the American tradition, if my memory serves."
Re: GYMNASIUM
"No, that's your tradition. I don't quite follow your logic in assuming I'm as bad as you are, but I'll let it pass."
Re: GYMNASIUM
He thought for a moment, and shrugged, watching the two girls leave.
"The fact that you think I'm as bad as you are is what makes you worse than I am. I am who I am for the world to see. You hide it behind kind words and a smile."
Another shrug followed. "But Hell, we're going to be roommates. I'll stay out of your business, provided you're not trying to engage those in over their heads. Stick to that, and we should get along swimmingly, really."
Re: GYMNASIUM
"Is that so? I think I can accommodate your tastes, Taue-kun." He paused for a moment to tap his chin. "Will you afford me the same, by the way? Would you do me the courtesy of believing in me before you judge me?"
Re: GYMNASIUM
Taue grinned, executing a slight bow.
"You know what they say, right? You never get another chance to make a first impression? I've got mine of you. You've got mine of me. They could both be right, one right one wrong, or both wrong. All we can do is find out, really. Did you get your stuff set up back in the room yet?"
Re: GYMNASIUM
In the intermediate quiet, he leaned down and took the bag beside his feet. He drew the strap tightly down over his shoulder. His right hand adjusted the strap of the second bag that carried his laptop and other delicate things.
"If you tell me what time you'll be busy, I will try to come at a time that I shall not disturb you."
