Who: Chloe and Mirai.
What: Meaningful talks.
Where: Sports Hall.
When: Monday 8th May, post-club.
Mirai watched each student as they came out the sports hall. He watched the crowd grow and observed morosely, inspecting certain students a second time. He felt lost and far from his usual home. The thin fingers of his left hand were tapping almost uncontrollably. Angrily he thought about thought about how many reputations he could ruin, in an attempt to make his life feel better. He thought it entirely possible he could ruin his own. He clearly needed to go home. He would have to ring his father later.
His fingers were now drumming quite angrily. A frown came on his face, looking thoroughly intense. He began to wonder whether the German would even emerge after Judo practice. And, fortunately, his own had ended quite early. Juniors were still cleaning inside, which was what had freed him up. But he had waited, and when she came he headed in a beeline.
"Hey. Would you be so kind as to share a word?"

Chloe stood off to the side, away from prying eyes, and crossed her arms over her chest. She eyed Mirai, up and down, as if trying to come to a conclusion of what he wanted to talk about. In true Chloe fashion, she remained silent, waiting for him to say his piece.

"Over here," he said at last. He was retreating into the shadows that backed the outside wall. "I am quite sure you know who I want to talk about."

"Speak."
Her tone was clipped yet tired. It held little of the bark it might have had under better circumstances.

"I miss her," he said very matter-of-factly. He was silent with caution for Chloe's reaction. "No matter what you or anybody else believes."

"We all do."
She didn't deny that he missed her, and she definitely didn't try to belittle his feelings. Loss like this wasn't something that could be quantified so easily. Yes, she was angry at him for how she had made Miyume feel trapped towards the end... but she was angrier at herself for not being able to help Miyume.

"I am quite sure many in the school don't," he said. He was angry at the hypocrisy. That others had spoken without caring when she was alive.

She caught herself before she went any farther, reigning in her anger. What was she going to say about the others in this school? Whatever it was, it wasn't anything nice. She closed her eyes for a moment, willing the sudden flare of anger to subside before she spoke again.
"Not the school. We. Us. Those who knew the real Miyume."
The German's gaze had become so intense now, and she probably hadn't realized it.

Mirai accused others of keeping their eyes on Miyume. His eyes were studying Chloe. He saw she was far angrier than he had seen her since their paths had crossed, and then working together in the other world. He looked again when she kept control, and he felt better when she just stood there without yelling.
"Perhaps I didn't make myself clear," he said to her. Then he smiled and added, "The school. The staff, maybe?"
