Who: Haruka+Anyone (Open)
Where: Meriken Park
When: May 3, Golden Week
What: Fun Times at Harbor-Land Amusement Park
Everyone who wasn't out of town for Golden Week received a quick message over the school network: 'Checking out Harbor-Land Amusement Park. Anyone want to meet for noon?'
Haruka left it up to chance who would show up. If no one at all did, she was okay with that too. Golden week was almost over. What better way to spend it in a place like this?
Haruka waited near the entrance, sipping an iced coffee she got from the nearby vending machine. She was wearing a simple light blue wench top and a white skirt with a delicate decorative chain of beads hanging from the side, and her hair was in a loose braid. Her head with occasionally turn, attentive, as she paid attention to the passing sounds.

"Checking out Harbor-Land Amusement Park. Anyone want to meet for noon?" is what the message over the network had said. Might as well have some fun while I'm waiting, he had thought earlier, but now that he was actually here, he began to second-guess his decision. However, through the aching of his muscles and the throbbing of his head, he presses on anyways towards the amusement park. It will be nice to talk to someone apart from the instructors, and he certainly couldn't explain his situation to Ryuta without receiving the standard scolding.
Baku would come into view a few minutes after noon, hands in the pockets of his school slacks. In place of the jacket that his schoolmates would typically see him in is a navy blue shirt, sporting the Laughing Man logo from the old Ghost in the Shell manga on the front of it. He holds a grim expression that reflects his displeasure at his morning's activities - right up to the moment he spots Haruka. On reflection, it was easier being around her. Sure, she was a girl, but there was no need for a fake smile, and that made her company all the more... organic? That's an odd word to use for it.
"There you are, Shikata-san."

"Oh. Hi, Ogata-san. Was starting to think I would have to be one of those lonely souls wandering amusement parks alone, surrounded by couples and groups."
no subject
"Most of the others are away for Golden Week. I've hardly gone anywhere, but having the entire room to myself while Ryuta-san is gone has been a vacation unto itself."
His gaze turns away from the girl to the park itself; he'd never had the time to spend on things like this before, so he was at a bit of a loss for where to start.
"So, uhh... have you been here before?"

At the question, she stepped forward, following the drifting voice. She replied, "Nope. Just thought it'd be interesting to experiment with before going back to classes and doom." She turned her head in the general direction of passing voices, absently following conversations and feelings about the place. "It's supposed to be a pretty small park. But at least there's a roller-coaster, a Ferris wheel, a tilt-a-whirl and some games.
"Ever been to an amusement park before?"
no subject
"Not since I was younger; I put most of my time into my training, and... well, I've got even more training to do now, so I didn't know when my next chance would be."
After a moment, he looks around at the crowd, speaking again in an almost absent-minded manner, "is anyone else coming, you think?"

At the question, she turned her head absently in the direction of the passing voices. There was too much of a wall of sound to get a feel for a lot of individual voices but none stood out for her. "Probably not." She shrugged. "They can always send a text if they show up later." She turned her head in Ogata's direction. "You want to wait any longer?"

A slight growl was heard at the back of her mind, and she inwardly grumbled. When she had received the message from Haruka, she fully planned on not going. An aggressive conversation with Garmr later, and here she was. Why the heck did he want her to go here anyway? Did he think he was helping? Whatever the case, the German looked just as tired as she had before. The familiar dark circles were still there under her eyes, but her icy gaze darted around alertly.
Her stride was as strong as ever as she moved through the crowd. Most people moved willingly out of her way, almost as if she were splitting the crowd by her mere presence. It wasn't anything new, but being in crowds this big made her uncomfortable. Eventually, she saw the familiar cane that was attached to a familiar person. The German headed towards the blind girl, realizing that Baku was also there with her. Great. She wondered if they would be surprised to see her, as surprised as she was to actually be there herself.

She held that for a few moments before turning her head towards a familiar 'clopping' coming towards them. When the person was close enough, she smelt something like tea leaves and smiled.
"Hey."

"How's it going, Kiiro-san? Amusement parks didn't strike me as your kind of thing. Shikata-san and I are at a bit of a loss as to where to start... have you been here before?"
no subject
"I haven't."
The German responded in her usual low and even tone. Her eyes wandered around at all there was to take in. All of this trivial merriment... she wanted to frown just looking at it, but her face remained its usual calm and stoic mask.

Himeko almost dashed through the crowds of people towards the entrance of the amusement park.
She had noticed her roommate’s message on the network way too late and planned to train the whole day like she did on most of her days off. The next audition would surely be coming up soon and she had to be prepared for it.
Plus, she had to report the results of her training routine to her instructors in Tokyo all the time. It was an annoying thing to do and she always missed out on doing it on purpose until her family started calling and lecturing her about it.
However, spending the day at an amusement park sounded like a way more exciting thing to do than training. The idol-wannabe remembered having visited one once when she was a lot younger, but never had a chance to go again afterwards.
After finally reaching the entrance of the park, she could see Haruka and Chloe standing there and sighed with relief. They still seemed to be waiting for others to arrive.
Before approaching the group she stopped for a moment, smoothed down the frilly pastel-pink and a little grey colored skirt she was wearing and checked on the lacey sailor collar of her pink and white striped top with the puffy sleeves. To not look too childish with today’s outfit she had decided to tie her hair in low twintails instead of her usual high ones, which were making her slightly more mature looking. She hadn’t been able to go without huge ribbons as her hair ties, though.
After checking her outfit, she excitedly approached the little crowd.
“I’m so glad that you’re all still here! I just saw the message and immediately rushed here! Sorry~~”, she apologized and curiously observed the little group, her eyes stopping at Baku. Himeko tilted her head slightly. She remembered seeing him a few times somewhere at school, but they hadn’t really met before.
“Um...I don’t think we know each other, do we?”, she asked.

Kisa, wearing a simple pair of dark pants and a pale blue blouse, approached the cluster of Chitoku students with a cheerful wave and a smile. She'd been concerned at first about finding everyone -- the place wasn't huge, but it wasn't exactly small, either -- but Chloe had neatly, and unexpectedly, solved that problem.
"I'd thought more people would be on vacation somewhere."
no subject
"Yeah. More's better though?" Turning to the others, she asked, "Want to grab out tickets now or wait a bit longer?"
Not too far from them was a row of ticket machines with rates listed clearly.
no subject
"Uhh, yeah... I mean, no, I don't think so... I'm Ogata Baku," he corrects himself quickly. His social ineptitude only heightens with the arrival of Kisa. Another survey of the individuals gathered leads him to a shocking realization: I'm the only guy here. With that thought, eye contact with Himeko breaks immediately, and he scratches his head. Come on, keep it going. What, this Persona nonsense is cake but girls are scary?
"... so, err, what's your name?"
no subject
“So… you are like that type of guy? You know…Talking to girls is awkward? ”, she looked around and started chuckling. “If this is the case, today’s going to be a challenge for you! I mean… as the only guy around…”
Himeko didn’t really mean to embarrass or mock him. It was just her usual direct and curious personality that made her say things like these. She really didn’t think too much about it.
“A~~nyway, let’s just concentrate on having fun!”, she nodded in his direction and turned around to greet Kisa with a bow as well before walking over to her roommate.
“I’d say let’s buy tickets already! I really want to get in!”

Not too far away at the machines was a boy explaining to the girl he was with why she couldn't ride the rollercoaster all day while he picked up their tickets from a machine. Haruka tilted her head slightly and took a few steps in that direction.
"I think tickets are this way?"
no subject
"I'm not, uhh... I mean... I'll be fine, don't be ridiculous," was what he managed in response before his attention was, thankfully, stolen by Haruka's direction. He pats his jacket gently to confirm that he had indeed remembered to bring along some spending money for the occasion.
"Yeah, that looks like what we're looking for."

She paused for a moment, in deep thought, before shrugging. She hit the increase button about twenty times, the pay button, and then swiped her card (twice, since she accidentally error-ed out from swiping too late) and the machine spat them out loudly.
"Good to go. It's pay a ticket when you get to the front of the line." Which she mainly knew from looking up online reviews. She tilted her head and asked, "Rollercoaster, tilt-a-whirl, ferris wheel, or boardwalk games?"
no subject
"Any is fine."
