Who: Mirai, Miyume.
Where: Dorms then Chitoku.
When: Tuesday, April 18th.
What: Whirlwind in the city.
Mirai inspected his watch as he waited outside the dorm, with bright glimmers of streetlight illuminating behind him against a dusk-shrouded path. These last few minutes took forever to pass - waiting was hard, like forcing yourself to work on an essay about your worst subject. Meanwhile, they piled more work on his shoulders after forcing him to his knees. It wasn't work. He kept imagining he heard his father telling him it was his duty. He had no intention of letting someone as unmerciful as his father tell him about duty.
It was utterly ridiculous. He assumed his father was calculating the kudos he would earn from having a son who was among the brightest hopes for the future. He shut his eyes. Then he whistled to himself and the worry was gone, so silently and quickly that it seemed he was taking no notice of it.
In the relative quiet, he had been keeping a silent watch on the dormitory. Now he saw the door open, not inviting but to let someone escape, and she was waving. Then he whistled his appreciation and set up a camera with his fingers. Seeing the dark sky, particularly such a starry one, had been calming. He hoped very much that other good things would happen.

Miyume had done her make-up a little differently as well, looking up some cosmetic tips online. Even though it'd been her first time, it'd come out well. She looked a little more mature, she thought, though whether it was because of the make-up job or her expression, she couldn't be sure.
"I'm glad you like it," she said modestly, not quite able to keep the shyness completely out of her tone. "Are you ready to go?"
no subject
In turn, he could almost see her sympathy. Now he felt his heart fill, with the heat he was feeling. But he reined in his drive and pushed it down where it could rest.
"No," he said. "There's just one thing." A small circle around, with one hand lifting the hair he could see hanging around her. "Only if you wear this." Then he pulled out a woolly scarf - black and blue - and his eyes watched with the expectation she take it. "It's mine. I don't want you to freeze to death," he said.
no subject
She took it with a hand that trembled slightly with emotion rather than weariness and carefully wound it around her neck and shoulders as if it was something far more precious and expensive than a simple wooly scarf. Once that was done, she leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek, lingering a moment.
"Thank you, Mirai," she said in total sincerity. "I love it."
no subject
"Very well," he said. He began to adjust a little more. When he was satisfied, he downed the scarf, although he looked as if he wasn't satisfied leaving it alone. "Lovely evening today, isn't it?"
no subject
Her cheeks were still a little pink and her heart was racing. The possessive undertone to Mirai's action hadn't gone missed. She didn't look the slightest bit perturbed, if anything the gesture had simply ignited a spark deep within her and once more her gaze seemed far too mature to belong to a fifteen year old girl.
"The stars look beautiful tonight, don't they?" she murmured as she looked up at the sky.
no subject
He gave a huge sigh. They were beautiful but how would they help him? For everything on earth was closer when needed.
"You don't think yourself as beautiful, do you?" he muttered. He found her question difficult enough to answer that he spent some time touching at her scarf.
no subject
"Honestly, not really. I guess I'm cute. That's what everyone says, anyway. How cute or adorable I am. I used to be a lot happier about it than I am now. I haven't really liked thinking about my body much the past few years."
no subject
"That's not good. You need to start having more confidence. I wonder if you'll let me help you with that?" He gave a cocksure smile. "I can think about your body too, if you wish."
no subject
"I do need more confidence," Miyume agreed. "And yes, you may. I need your help."
She didn't reply to his comment about thinking about her body directly but she did give seem to give permission in the form of a tolerant, affectionate smile.
no subject
"... Hmm. I'll remember that." He took the time to look behind himself and checked his watch, then offered his arm. "Well then, shall we go?"
no subject
Miyume looked up at him with a mixture of open fondness and admiration. Then she slipped her arm through his. She nestled close for a moment.
"Where do you want to go first?
no subject
"I hope you realise why you're dressed like that," he said. "You're going clubbing."
no subject
"Oh, my. I've never done that before," she admitted not sounding nearly as surprised as her words indicated. She smiled gently at Mirai.
"Please be gentle with me?"
no subject
Mirai couldn't promise he'd be gentle. But he did value the freedom of choice Miyume so deserved.
no subject
"I want to have fun. I want to be happy. I want to be free of constraints and judgement. People look at me like I'm not even here, like all they can see is themselves reflected in me. They're too caught up in their own belief that they know me that they never bother actually getting to know me."
The anger, frustration, misery, and disgust behind Miyume's words were unmistakable. When her thoughts began to stray back to Taue's casual comment about her being a moe-blob, she closed her eyes and simply focused on her breathing until she was able to speak calmly again.
"I'm sorry, Mirai. I didn't mean to dump this all on you so quickly."
Though she seemed to be standing a little taller now than she had before, she also looked more fragile and vulnerable somehow.
"It's been a long time since anybody's asked me what I wanted, I guess," she explained with a barely perceptible edge of shame in her voice.
no subject
His arm around her began to pull itself. It was growing chillier now, and he wanted her close. He was just about to say she had a spine when he thought it was unnecessary. He had a little shiver go down the length of his.
"I was talking about something else. I would tell you what, but I think it would be inappropriate."
no subject
The arm around her felt nice and so did the physical closeness. She began to relax a bit more. She still wasn't completely comfortable with this social life thing. Even before she'd gotten sick, Miyume hadn't been much of a social life. For as long as she could remember, people had always been more into her than she'd been with them.
Miyume leaned into his side, resting her head against his shoulder, wondering what he had been talking about and why he thought it'd be inappropriate.
no subject
He dug in closer with a well-placed thumb and didn't seem at all anxious of being seen. His right hand on the arm around her patted her side, and his left rested on Miyume's head - though from the way his hand moved, it was clear he had some interest in trying to get her believing likewise - that there was a lot more to live for.
no subject
Feeling emotionally overwhelmed, not just by his but by her own as well, she pressed her face against his chest, all too aware of how her breathing and heartbeat quickened. She curled her fingers slightly in his shirt. After a moment, she embraced him entirely, wrapping her arms loosely around his waist.
no subject
He had even kissed the top of her head with a loving "Don't worry" and his fingers had dug and buried and caught and twined strands of her hair. They were rising upwards, clutching at more hair this side and that, as they continued into the smooth-soft sides of her face.
They made tiny gestures there and it showed that he had been caught in her affection. There was no mistaking that his eyes were desirous as well as shrewd. He loved magical mystery like the way a dragon loved gold. Still, there was something kind about the look he gave.
"You act like it's been hard," he said. "I'll make it fun when I can. I will be your-"
He unhooked his arms and his fingers lifted from her face - only to return a moment later. In fact, they seemed to touch her more tenderly than before and brushed up and down her cheekbones.
"Sorry. I guess I'm forcing your decision." He remembered the incident that had triggered her awakening, and stepped back.
no subject
Miyume had been in the middle of accepting and thoroughly enjoying the caring way Mirai was holding her. The warm haze of bliss lifted rather abruptly when he stepped back. She blinked a few times, as if being jarred awake from a very pleasant dream. The thought of simply pulling him back to her crossed at the fore front of her mind but instead, she simply looked at him with that soulful stare of hers that seemed to see far beyond the physical. She did, however, gently stroke his cheekbone with the back of her fingers.
"You're not forcing me into anything," she smiled reassuringly. "It has been hard and I would like you to finish your statement, Mirai. What would you be to me if I gave you complete reign over me and the decision was all yours to make?"
She caressed his cheek again.
"Tell me how you feel, Mirai? I'd like to know the truth. All of it, no matter how dark or terrible or inappropriate you think it might be."
no subject
"It's hard, Miyume. I'm a selfish guy. You are just too kind because you're still here even though you know what I am. Don't think bad of me. You should understand me better." He was just looking like he had been caught completely. "I think you're not like the others. I use them. It's just a game," he protested, "a bit of fun. But you're here, so I guess you understand - you're different."
The words were coming quite slowly. In the difficult emotional thoughts filling his mind he almost lost sight of what point he had settled on, and wanted to build back his wall to sit on. That would be where he remembered Miyume was helping him to build it with no intention of tricking him into taking it down.
no subject
She stepped forward again, slipping her arms his waist once more. She tilted her head back slightly so she could look at him earnestly.
"I don't think badly of you, Mirai. I don't believe I could," she said, sweet and sincere, eyes sparkling. "But don't go taking that as a challenge to prove me otherwise."
Without so much as a second thought or hesitation, Miyume removed her arms from around his waist, draping them around his shoulders and neck instead. A tiny, satisfied smile was the only warning Mirai got before Miyume suddenly stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips firmly against his.
no subject
"... Hmmmm. That's no good," he said mildly. "You need to watch less dramas."
The other hand was moving to grasp a fistful of hair. He pulled it gently and tilted her head, then leaned from a greater height to kiss her neck, starting just below her ear. Now he was finding she was bringing him happiness, because she had stepped over his wall completely - and respected him and left it intact.
no subject
"This feels nice, senpai. Very nice. But would you rather go someplace a little more private? Where we can a little more comfortable?"
All thoughts of clubbing amd dancing had been firmly put on the background for now.
no subject
There was definitely something agonising about the way he pulled back - but he was only stooping to pick up her cane, very carefully, holding her in a delicate, tender way.
"I told you you're special," he said. "So let's get going."
no subject
"I trust you, Mirai," she murmured as she took the cane away from him. She turned away from him to face the path again.
"Are we taking a cab?"
no subject
no subject
"We'll take a cab, then. Do you know the address of the club we're going to?"
At least, the question distracted her from dwelling on just how good that spank had felt.
no subject
He caught up quickly and was pleased with himself for having hidden something naughty in his words. She understood just where his heart was now, and cradled it in her hands instead of kicking it. He had no intention of letting someone as special as her forget that she was desirable and looked back at her, very naughtily, smiling as his words drew to a close.
Sometime Later:
He was leaning back in the couch, his brow narrowed in thought and he was trying not to pay attention to anybody but the girl sitting next to him. Though with the way his head was turning, it was clear there was very much to see indeed.
Re: Sometime Later:
And in all honesty, Miyume was a bit distracted by all the new sights and sounds of Kobe's night life as well. It was like Mirai had opened the door to an entirely new world for her, one that no one had ever let her so much as glimpse before. There was something both calming and mesmerizing about watching people much older than her dance, some with more abandonment and less discretion than others.
After a moment, she rested a hand on Mirai's knee then spoke.
"Would you like to dance? The music's still a little too fast for me but when a slower one comes on I can dance with you."
Re: Sometime Later:
"Miyume..." His voice faded. He leaned himself into her side, and rubbed his face against her. He then closed his eyes. "Just a moment, then." He was clearly used to resting his head on a girl's bosom, since he was being very confident indeed. "I have to say that you're quite comfortable. You'll let me stay here for a moment?"
There followed a strange and eerie problem. Miyume was wanting to dance but refusing to try anything stronger. He mentally scratched his head - but he was respectful, in his own fashion.
Re: Sometime Later:
As if she'd done this a million times before, she instantly began stroking his hair, toying with individual strands here and there. Comfort was something she knew how to do, the one area Miyume still saw herself as competent in, even if half the time all she told were lies. This time she wasn't, however. There was something completely honest about her body language.
"We don't have to dance if you'd rather do this. I like this, too."
Re: Sometime Later:
This answer gave Mirai a few seconds of peace in which to lean in even closer - and as she played with his hair, which gave a wonderful feeling, he thought that he would stay here and enjoy her company even more so. And during several moments did he settle down more comfortably, with her chest supporting his neck.
He did not move or speak, but he had to stretch his legs out over the arm and feel gravity pull them down. There was a rustle of leather when he reached for his drink.
"I have ideas," he said, "about other things to do. But this is good."
Re: Sometime Later:
She closed her eyes, an almost dream-like contentment washing over her. She touched his temples and began to massage them gently with her fingertips. She sighed, feeling a bit like she was floating on a cloud, far removed from the rest of the world. There was an odd sort of detachment from the dancers and music playing, as if all of that was taking place just outside her reach.
"I'm curious."
Re: Sometime Later:
He was clearly very thoughtful. And now, with a murmur, stirring from his rest - not to speak but simply drink. And he stretched out a lithe arm to the small counter, where he placed his glass.
Whatever they did, wherever they were, he was certainly at least expecting self-opinionated and harsh people to confront him. Miyume was a nice girl and they knew exactly his type. It seemed that they were more aware of him than he - though there was something about it that left him dumb and confused at times. All he wanted was to make them writhe so much that he spent some time thinking of his position.
"I don't want to share," he said enticingly. "But if you ask nicely..."
Re: Sometime Later:
"And how would I best go about that, Mirai?" she asked in soft, oddly mesmerizing tone of voice. "How would you instruct me to ask you nicely?"
Re: Sometime Later:
Mirai liked different souls running around after him. But something about the comment was off-handed. He simply could not imagine doing anything else at this moment. His needs would fulfill themselves somehow, he knew that. A selfish thing. He reasoned it away with all the excuses he could think of. He was considerate of her feelings. He was being understood at last. He could not resist his humour though, nor how Miyume might turn a shade of red.
"How about massaging me for a moment, Miyume? It might make me think, right?"
Re: Sometime Later:
She began to rub her hands slowly in circles across his chest. Her fingers teased the open edges of his button down shirt, seeming like they might slip into it but falling just short of of doing so.
"Any ideas yet?"
Re: Sometime Later:
He looked down, and lifted his hands until those underneath were free to move to a place where they wanted. Or hopefully, under his shirt - he was not sure what he wanted.
"... Nope." He didn't sound disappointed - even serious. But he did seem to be searching, and turned a little on his side. "Ah, Miyume? Would you go right a bit? I've got a terrible itch."
Re: Sometime Later:
While she didn't look particularly happy or sad, she did seem to have found a moment of peace. And in a life as riddles with obstacles as hers, peace was more than enough for Hazama Miyume. Happiness faded and sorrow always found its way home to her one way or another.
