Holding the large stack of papers was a little inconvenient. But it was all necessary for the plan. Ryuta thought this as his posted some on the hallway wall, careful to align them perfectly and in noticeable areas. After all, the first step was to make himself known. And while there were other less tactful ways to grab attention, he felt that this was a better alternative overall. Luckily, news about his 'job' didn't reach the other students. That was not the kind of attention he wanted to garner.

He sat the large stack of papers beside him to examine his work so far. He grinned in admiration of his flawless work. The signs read 'Ryuta Tanemoto for Student Council President' on the top portion in large letters to grab attention, while a smaller print was used to detail his plans for once he took office. While it wasn't everything he wanted to do, he knew it would be best to first test the waters before promising too much. And he even mentioned that he would be open to ideas from the students. He stood their for a bit to admire his work and to take a quick break.

"I think so too."

This made his motivations seem almost perfect. Except generosity or something had died inside him a long time ago. The advantage given to their group would be as useful for himself. He could think of worse things than to know somebody with a position of power who he could lean on or even blackmail. But in a remarkably short time, he felt as if his body had been chain when it came to carrying through on such things.

Still, he had no intention of letting this opportunity pass. He had every intention of using his loyalty to make sure this plan worked.

"I also think it's very brave of you. You're going to be taking on a lot more work, I suppose."

"Indeed. As the first president, I would need to set a good example for the future Student Council members. But it could also prove very rewarding as well." He then turned back toward Mirai with a vague curiosity. "Truth be told, I figured you would be against such an idea. I believed you would advocate for less authority and such. Makes me wonder what you are thinking right now..."

"... Hmmm," said Mirai, when Ryuta was done. Curiously, he took a second look at the leaflet, which was now the most interesting thing here. "I'm an honest man. I have my reasons for wanting you in the position, Ryuta-kun. We're always going to have someone in authority, right? Well then, as you mentioned, it should be one of us. You're our best candidate, right?"

Ryuta maintained his calm demeanor, showing only a small hint of curiosity behind his eyes. From what he has seen of Mirai so far, Mirai always kept his cards close to his chest. A rather interesting person to say the least. For him to so readily accept Ryuta's candidacy, it only added more depth to the mystery.

"I see. Then would you be willing to assist in my efforts?" It was risky. He could tell there was more to Mirai than meets the eye. But he needed all the help he could get if he wanted to win. And the greater the risk, the greater the reward.

Mirai found he could permit himself to be used. In the political climate of the school, he had been drafted into work for a cause before his bed was even warm and settled. So he had set off to make something positive of the event, just like he was doing today.

He had only to use the person who wished him to be used. Rules-kun really had to be trusting to think he was going to use him! For there would at least be some advantage he got out of this business. And the deepest spaces of his unconscious mind were telling him to visit upon Ryuta a lesson that it was too early to teach him yet. First he would have to tempt his associate once he was in that position. There was something fun about that.

"You already have my help, Tanemoto-kun. There's no need to ask for it." He smiled. "I can even help squeeze a few votes out of my friends, if you like."

Ryuta replied in a professional, business like tone. "I doubt that would be necessary. Right now, there is no one running against me as of yet. I believe the best course of action would be to spread the news around the campus first. Make the student body start thinking about the election."

He then grabbed the stack of fliers and gave Mirai half of them. "Now would you be so kind as to post these in the dorms? I'm almost done here in the school."

Mirai was already taking them before Ryuta had finished requesting it. It was quick and easy work and he would take steps to put them in the most noticeable of places. He had no intention of putting them somewhere so vulgar as the door, but in the sorts of locations people would remember. It was possible those on the door might be torn off and lost in the commotion, anyway.

He stood smiling at Ryuta for a moment afterwards. "... Sure." But his smile widened just a bit when he thought he could ask for a favour later, at any time. "Well, I'll get going," he said eventually. "I have a few things to do for myself also."

And with that, he was heading away.
