Who: Haruka+Anyone (feel free to jump in and make subthreads across time and space!)
Where: Home Ec Room+Near Entrace
When: Wed April 19th (after school) and Saturday April 22nd (during lunch)
What: Drama Club spreads sugary goodness

.

'DRAMA CLUB PRACTICES ARE SUSPENDED THIS WEEK FOR FUNDING SCHEMES AND BEGGARY' read the notice on the drama room door.

Instead, the members of the drama club were prepping for the bake sale planned for Saturday. After some wheedling with the Home Ec club for permission to use the room and even more wheedling to be allowed to put up ads and set up a table during lunch, things were well underway.

A few club members had already finished their contributions and were gone, leaving a boy who had to start over when he burned his batch (the smell wafting outside the open door), two girl who were spending more time talking than doing work, and Haruka. Haruka had her tablet on the counter, settled on a recipe for caramel chocolate cake, while she worked, taking her time as she went through each step. The kitchen station she was at was fairly standard so she didn't have much problem navigating but it was nice to not have to maneuver around people or fight for space anymore.

Chloe shot the two girls another cold stare, her eyes flashing as she actually stood up straight to her full height and squared her shoulders. She didn't like gossipy girls starting things they couldn't finish. She had half a mind to walk closer to their table and just stand there in hopes that the 'gaijin's' mere presence was enough to drive them off. It was mostly what she was good at anyway.

"I am, a little bit, thank you. Better than I was yesterday. I can walk today," Miyume said, beaming. "It's good to see you again, too, Saiga-senpai. Are you feeling any better? You looked pretty beat."

As she spoke, Miyume finally opened her bento.

Mirai blinked. Before Miyume could move at all, he stole an item from her bento. He did not seem too bothered when he stepped back and simply took three fifty-yen coins out the purse in his bag. He was in a rush, but he did not seem to be rushing. Evidently his attention was going somewhere else sharply.

"Thank you. You really are kind for being willing to feed a growing boy, Mii-chan."

"Oh is that all?" Ryuta shrugged slightly. He watched as the students walked out the room in a hurry, fearing Abendroth's wrath. He sighed and faced Haruka once more. "That's quite the baseless accusation. They should know better than to start making up things. I was only passing along some information."

"But either way, I hope that such talk won't continue. I would hate for you to be the troubled by it."

Miyume blinked. It happened so suddenly and quickly, she didn't even see exactly what it was that Mirai had taken from her. She hadn't even had a chance to look inside yet. For a moment, she gazed down at her bento. It looked like she might be missing an onigiri but she couldn't be sure.

Then her gaze turned toward Mirai but instead of displaying annoyance, she looked like she might burst out laughing at any moment.

"You're welcome, Mirai," she responded in an amused tone, deliberately leaving off the honorific. "I hope you enjoy."

What a bitch? Was that the best they could come up with? She had been called far, far worse than that before. She almost wanted to smirk as the girls promptly left; at least Haruka wouldn't have to deal with them anymore, not today anyway.

The German quickly went about cleaning up any mess that she had made. She cleaned thoroughly until there wasn't a single trace that anyone had been baking there. While she cleaned, she did her best not to eavesdrop on the conversation, since it didn't concern her.

Miyume nodded at each instruction, then remembered Haruka wouldn't be able to see her. She hadn't realized just how much non-verbal communication she used until recently.

"Okay, senpai! Leave it to me," she said brightly, happy to be of some kind of use here after all.

"Wow, senpai, you have good aim," she said brightly and chuckled.

Miyume picked up an egg and cracked with far more concentration than seemed necessary for such a simple task. She discarded the shell in the same bowl Haruka had.

"Would you like the honors of sacrificing the last of our chicken young in the name of delicious cake?" she asked teasingly, smile and tone completely innocent.

"Hmm. Perhaps I should call you something else then? To avoid confusion." Ryuta seemed perplexed for a moment trying to think up a name. "Ah yes. What was it that Imaizumi called you? It seemed to have slip my mind for some reason. Perhaps that would be a preferable choice instead."

Ryuta barely managed to hold himself back from reacting. He did wince a little, but was at least thankful that she could not see that. He cleared his throat and answered with, "Shikata then. Sounds perfect."

Miyume giggled. She was glad she'd come. This was much more fun than just sitting around her dorm room waiting for Mirai to text her. As enjoyable as the anticipation there could be.

"I'll mix it. We have an electric mixer, right?"

Just how temperamental was it? And how firm of a grip would she need? Miyume wondered these things as she went to the cabinet Haruka had indicated. She was able to get it open but the mixer appeared to be just out of her reach.

"It's too high for me to reach it," Miyume said, clearly dismayed. She looked around for a step or something she could use but to no avail.

Chloe meanwhile had been finishing putting away the things she had used to make the cookies. Lucky for Miyume and Haruka, she had been passing the cupboard they stood at when the box began to fall.

The German's hand shot out to catch the small box before her mind had caught up with the thought to do so. When thought and movement were on the same page, the taller girl awkwardly held the box out for either Miyume or Haruka to take.

There was rather a lot of familiarity going around, especially between Miyume and the tall third-year she half-recalled from the network as Imaizumi. It was surprising and a little awkward, but she pushed her way through it with a smile, as was her way.

"I am, thank you." There were the beginnings of very faint circles under her eyes, but she certainly looked more lively than she had at the library.
