Who: The Chitoku inaugural class.
Where: Chitoku campus, various locations.
When: Sunday, April 3, 2022, two days before the start of spring term.
What: The school has opened its doors.
After eight years of careful planning and preparation, the campus of Chitoku Academy for the Gifted was coming alive at last. Helpful staff members had been posted everywhere in anticipation of the crowd, and seemingly every variable had been accounted for in order to make the move-in and initial orientation go as smoothly as possible...
Save, that is, for the weather.
The sky had just opened up on several hundred students and their families. Boxes and suitcases were being hastily hauled to whatever shelter could be found, with the aforementioned helpful staff members now acting as guides to the most convenient locations, and clusters of people seemed to naturally form around them, waiting for the downpour to slacken so the day could proceed.

Re: DORMS
She shut the door after her and left her bag at the door. She waited for a few moments, listening for movement or a sign of her roommate but she only heard the people running around outside. Lucky for her, she guessed.
The descriptions online had told her what to expect but she wanted to map the place by herself. After she was dry. She didn't think her roommate would appreciate her leaving even more puddles around than she already was.
After feeling her way to the washroom, she picked out a few dry clothes - including blue tank top with a dog with wings on it and a pair of jean - from her bag before entering and locking the door. Within a few minutes, the shower began running, offering blissful warmth for Haruka.
Re: DORMS
After all the trouble she had coming here, all by herself because her family couldn’t find the time to come along, everything she wanted was finally putting her pretty heavy bags down somewhere in her room.
“Room 510…Room 510…”, she mumbled the room number given to her, while checking the doors she passed by. Finally getting closer to the number she was looking for, she caught sight of a small group of girls standing right in the middle of the hallway, excessively staring at her. Himeko led out a quiet sigh and tried to ignore them as best as she could. Luckily for the small girl, they didn’t even bother to start a conversation with her. All they did was whispering behind her back.
Sadly, this was pretty normal for her already. She knew that they were most likely talking about her family, hoping that at least her sister would show up at Chitoku as well someday.
Finally, Himeko reached the door she was looking for. Not wanting to suddenly interrupt her roommate, if she happened to be there already, she decided to knock on the door before stepping inside.
At a first glance nobody except for herself seemed to have arrived yet. Then, she spotted a bag near the door and heard the sound of water in the bathroom.
Himeko placed her own bags next to the ones of her roommate and stepped directly into one of the puddles on the ground. She figured that the other girl must have gone through the rain without any umbrella, which was probably the reason for her taking a shower at the moment.
Looking around some more, she decided to sit down on one of the beds and waited for the other one to come back to their bedroom to properly greet her.
Re: DORMS
She side stepped where she had a feeling she probably dripped before and turned her head around for a bit before calling out, "Hi?"
Re: DORMS
The small girl took a minute to size her up, watching the way she behaved closely. She was pretty. That was her opinion, at least. In addition to that she had a somewhat calm presence, which was definitely to Himeko’s liking.
And there was something about her eyes. The fact that the other girl didn’t open them at all had to mean that she couldn’t see, right?
Though she had never met a blind person before, she tried to ignore it for now and began with her introduction.
“Sorry for coming in so suddenly! I’m Uehara Himeko. I think we will be roommates starting today! It’s nice to meet you!”, she said cheerfully, putting on her typical cutesy act while bowing slightly; well aware of the fact that the other girl probably wasn’t even able to see it.
Re: DORMS
"Well, if you're assigned to 510 then yeah, we are. If not this is a bit awkward." She shrugged and nodded her head. "I'm Haruka Shikata. Nice to meet you I guess."
Re: DORMS
"I probably expressed that awkwardly…but we really are! Roommates, I mean. I double-checked!", she said, well realizing that she sounded just plain naive here. She didn’t really care, though. She tried to keep her act going, so that it could hopefully break the ice between both of them.
If there was something she didn’t want, then it was a roommate she couldn't get along with.
"Shikata Haruka-san...Haruka-tan...Haruru! I think that would be fitting!", she smiled, looking at her roommate. "Nicknames!", she then started her explanation to not leave the other girl in a state of confusion. "I like to give them to people, I meet. …As long as they aren’t older than me, at least. It would be kind of disrespectful to call a senpai by some nickname, right? Ah, but if you prefer being called by your real name, that’s fine!"
Re: DORMS
Re: DORMS
"You can call me whatever you like! Just don’t use my surname...I’d prefer something cute!!, the small girl explained.
Himeko disliked being called by her surname with a passion. It wasn’t just because it reminded her of being part of that family. She also somehow really hated the sound of it.
Re: DORMS
Cutesy...probably average or smaller...higher pitched voice....hyper...
"Hachi?"
Re: DORMS
Hachi...that kind of nickname was new to her.
But it wasn’t bad and she had to admit it did sound cute, too.
"I’m fine with that! Hachi it is!", she finally responded.
"Well then~ I hope we'll get along well!", she added after a short pause, thinking about some more questions to ask her.
"What kind of things are you specialized in, Haruru?"
She had always been curious. And since they were roommates now and therefore would probably spend a lot of time together she needed to know what kind of person Haruru was.
Re: DORMS
Re: DORMS
“Drama seems like a cool choice, too! I’d like to see you perform someday!”, Himeko added cheerfully and slightly impressed.
Re: DORMS
"Hopefully soon?" She smiled but there was...a very slight tension for a moment in her muscles that quickly faded as she lightly massaged her shoulder. "It's my specialty so it'd be sucky not to let me actually apply it."
Re: DORMS
"I just sing!", she then answered Haruru's question.
"But piano is nice, I guess! My sister used to be very talented as far as I remember."
She noticed something a little odd in her roommate's reactions for a few seconds as she spoke about her drama activities but initially left it at that, just observing her a little closer.
"I hope so, too! I'd like to see how good you really are!", she nodded to herself while speaking.
Re: DORMS
"Thanks. You'll probably hear something here eventually anyway." She smiled a little. "Probably so loud and obnoxiously you'll be throwing things at me to get me to stop 'FOOLISH FOOL'ing."
Re: DORMS
She laughed a little at Haruru's comment. "As long as you don't start screaming while I'm asleep that probably won't happen! I don't guarantee for anything, though.", she replied jokingly.
"But if there's an important audition coming up, I'll end up being the one, that will annoy you instead, I guess."
Re: DORMS
"Okay then. Let me know and I'll know when to avoid sharp objects." She tilted her head though, looking genuinely interested, as something pricked her interest. "You actually go to auditions?"
Re: DORMS
She nodded in response to Haruru's question but shortly after she remembered that this wasn't an appropriate answer for someone who couldn't see.
"Ah, yes I do. In order to become an idol there's no way around them. I'm only going to the ones for huge agencies, though.", while speaking suddenly something came to her mind.
"Before I forget! I know a lot about the entertainment industry and auditions in general. There are a lot of audtitions for people specialized in drama as well. So if you need any information, just ask!", she offered in a friendly manner.
Re: DORMS
She was far enough from home anyway that she wouldn't need to worry about checking in first too.
"You been to a lot of auditions?"
Re: DORMS
"You should really try, then. It could change your entire life drastically!...And it's surely an experience", she continued cheerfully.
However, her roommate's next question made her mood drop a little.
"Yep. Probably been to more than you can imagine."
Re: DORMS
"But more likely I'd just get a rejection. Experience either way I guess." She shrugged a little.
"Interesting. Have you gotten any parts yet?"
Re: DORMS
“Just try it out! Even if it’s just for the experience.”, she said with a nod in her direction.
“I’ll keep an eye on drama auditions for you and tell you when something interesting pops up!”
Acting was normally not her métier, given the fact that she sucked at it. The only thing she could do was her cutesy act.
But she had her connections and was sure that she could obtain some usable information, soon.
“Not really. Just some advertisement work, when I was a little younger.”, she answered truthfully.
“I still lack something… “, she added, sighing deeply.
Re: DORMS
She tilted her head slightly at the sigh. "No feedback from those auditions to give you a hint?"
Re: DORMS
“Not really. Huge agencies have better things to do. They would never give you any hints. My instructors back in Tokyo vaguely told me what it is I lack… but I still don’t fully understand.”, she replied. The thought of her failed auditions and the time after that made her shudder.
Re: DORMS
"What did they say, if it's okay to ask?"
